Apple has released Boot Camp Public Beta.
Owners of the Intel Mac can now install Windows XP SP2 on their Intel Macs. Has Apple decided to sideline itself in the computer business and concentrate on the $Pod?
Or is this a masterstroke to sell more Macs? A line in their press release is a dead giveaway.
Windows running on a Mac is like Windows running on a PC. That means it’ll be subject to the same attacks that plague the Windows world. So be sure to keep it updated with the latest Microsoft Windows security fixes.
Is Apple betting on the multitude of bugs in Windows to give OS X a much needed push in the OS market?
1. You buy a Mac, install Windows (your games wont work on OSX, duh!).
2. After a few days (maybe weeks), Windows crashes. You reinstall. In the meantime you use OSX, which doesn’t crash at all.
3. You reinstall Windows 4 times a year, losing important data every time. While the OS X partition remains pristine.
4. You switch to OS X.
Possible? I think so.
